The prince decides to become patron of Dr. Samuel Johnson and his new dictionary, until they become enemies. When Blackadder discovers that Baldrick has burnt Dr. Johnson's dictionary, and Johnson has no copy, Blackadder has no choice to replace the dictionary by rewriting it.
